Hello, I'm Heather! Congratulations on taking the brave step to seek out therapy. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship can help you work through issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, trauma, and many other challenges you might be facing. I have been working with a variety of communities for many years, and I am excited to apply these experiences and knowledge to support you in reaching your goals and living your healthiest life. My approach is rooted in a strength-based model, where I believe each person is an individual who already possesses the strength and courage they need to be healthy. I understand that life brings many challenges, and you might need support to find that strength and identify your tools to treat the whole person. With a background in Social Work, I have learned that a person's environment, biology, and social areas must be taken into account. I use a candid, compassionate, and non-judgmental ear with an accountability approach, and I will support you as long as you need to reach your goals. Some areas that I have been working in include immigrant and refugee resettlement and trauma, severe and persistent mental illness, crisis resolution, and substance use and recovery. I am also trained in EMDR, which can be particularly effective for trauma. I specialize in helping clients with depression, family relationships, and trauma, and I offer SonderMind Video Telehealth for those who prefer or require remote sessions. I can't wait to meet you to see if we are a good fit and get started on your journey!
