I received my PhD and MA from the University of Mississippi and since 2004 have been a Professor at the University of Northern Colorado in the Department of Applied Psychology and Counselor Education. In this role, I have had the honor of training and supervising counselors, while continuing my clinical work. I have extensive experience in working with grief and bereavement, trauma, vicarious trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and coping through life transitions and times of suffering. I am committed to developing a trusting and connected relationship with each client. This therapeutic bond serves as the foundation for facilitating insight, fostering change, promoting healing, and enhancing overall well-being. My extensive experience in both academic and clinical settings has equipped me with a diverse skill set and a deep understanding of various therapeutic modalities. My therapeutic methods are tailored to meet the individual needs of my clients, ensuring that each person receives personalized care. I utilized evidence-based practices and integrate a holistic approach to address all aspect of well-being. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.
