What should a new client know about working with you?

Heather Rizzo has experience with clients of all ages. Clients working with Heather may want to talk about anxiety, coping skills, depression, family conflict, grief, life transitions, mood disorders, addiction, peer and romantic relationships, parenting, school/career stress, self-esteem, self-harming, stress and/or women's issues.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At Great South Bay Therapy, LCSW PC, clients can expect to meet with the therapist once per week. Great South Bay Therapy's therapists provide each client with a safe and non-judgmental space to talk through experiences and meet their wellness goals. Our clinicians work closely with clients to develop an individualized roadmap towards meeting those goals. The primary focus of the initial session is to assess needs, identify symptoms, discuss policies and procedures and to establish therapeutic goals. The client and therapist will then create a "treatment" plan, which includes evidence-based techniques to help the client meet their goals over time. Some examples of these techniques include learning tools for symptom reduction, working towards a growth-based mindset, practicing communication skills, play-therapy, and much more.
