Getting to know Heather Vest

Life can be exhausting when you’re carrying stress, anxiety, or old wounds that never seem to heal. Maybe your mind races at night, you feel stuck in unhealthy patterns, or relationships leave you drained. You’ve tried pushing through, but it only makes you more tired and discouraged. You don’t have to keep doing this alone. I specialize in helping people feel lighter and more in control. Some days we’ll dive deep with trauma-focused therapy; other days humor and perspective will help us find relief. I use a mix of approaches—CBT, EMDR, mindfulness, solution-focused—choosing what fits your needs best. Sessions are virtual only, giving you support from the comfort of home. Seeking therapy is courageous, and it means you’re ready for change. Together, we’ll build a plan that restores peace, confidence, and connection. You deserve to feel better, and I’d be honored to walk with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I create a safe, down-to-earth space where you can be yourself. We’ll use proven tools like EMDR, CBT, and DBT—but we’ll also laugh when we need to, because healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Together, we’ll figure out what resonates for you and build a plan that feels supportive and sustainable. I’ll always explain the “why” behind what we’re doing so you feel empowered in your own process. My goal is simple: to help you feel lighter, more confident, and better equipped to handle life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We’ll start with an initial session to get to know each other, talk through your goals, and identify what you’d like to work on. From there, I’ll draw from approaches like EMDR, CBT, and DBT, blending them to fit your needs—not forcing you into a one-size-fits-all plan. Sessions often mix practical tools, new skills, and honest conversations (with room for laughter too). We’ll check in on your progress along the way, adjusting as needed, so you always feel supported and in the loop. My goal is for therapy to feel safe, collaborative, and genuinely helpful as you move toward the life you want.
