Getting to know Heidi Guevara

As a young child, I always knew I wanted to help others in some way. As life unfolded and I experienced a few negative events, I decided to embark on a new trajectory and study psychology to better understand human behavior. I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Miami and went on to complete my Master's in Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University. My passion is helping individuals see their life or situation through a new lens, one that doesn't allow their past to dictate their future. I am a firm believer that we are the only ones who limit ourselves and that we will only go as far as our thoughts let us. I have experience working with victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse. When I started my private practice, I discovered a love for couples therapy. My approach is influenced by the Gottman Method, an effective treatment that helps improve marital relationships, adjustment, and intimacy. My goal is to help you learn effective communication skills, develop empathy, remove barriers that lead to conflict, and increase affection.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
