Getting to know Dr. Helen Jimenez

I’m Dr. Helen Jimenez. At Outstress, I help people move from overwhelm to clarity by addressing stress, anxiety, burnout, and life transitions. My style is collaborative and action-oriented. I draw on evidence-based approaches—such as cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies (within a trauma-informed and culturally responsive framework). Together, we’ll set clear goals, practice practical skills you can use between sessions, and track your progress so care feels purposeful and personalized.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is collaborative and practical. In our first session, we’ll map out what’s bringing you in, identify your strengths, and set clear goals. I explain what we’re doing and why, so you always know how each step supports your progress. I integrate evidence-based approaches. Sessions are active and skills-based: you’ll leave with simple tools/resources to try between visits. We’ll check in regularly, track what’s helping, and adjust the plan together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First session (intake). We’ll clarify what brings you in, review your history and strengths, and set 2–3 concrete goals. I’ll explain consent, confidentiality (and its limits), and make sure the pace and approach feel safe. Typical follow-up (50 minutes). Brief check-in and agenda setting Focused work on a skill or pattern (i.e., reframing thoughts, grounding, boundary setting) Measuring progress. We’ll use short check-ins to see what’s helping and revisit goals, so care stays purposeful.
