Getting to know Homero Lopez

Hello, my name is Homero Lopez, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, emotional challenges, and difficulties related to conditions such as Borderline Personality Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I also work with couples and individuals experiencing relationship concerns. A significant part of my practice focuses on non-traditional relationships, including polyamorous relationships and polycules. I help clients navigate communication, trust, boundaries, and relationship balance in ways that align with their values and goals. Our early sessions will focus on understanding your unique experiences, identifying your goals for therapy, and developing a plan that supports meaningful and lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My goal is to help you build practical skills that can improve your relationships, increase emotional awareness, and help you create the life you want to live. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important parts of successful therapy. For that reason, I begin with a brief consultation to ensure we are a good fit. Our first session is focused on getting to know you, understanding your history, and learning what you hope to gain from therapy. Together, we will create goals and develop a path forward that feels meaningful and achievable.
