Getting to know Homero Lopez

Hi, my name is Homero Lopez and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor. I specialize in working with adults that experience depression and anxiety associated with borderline, MDD, GAD and other challenges. I also work closely with relational challenges and couples. My focus is on non-traditional relationships. I work often with polycules, or individuals in nontraditional relationships to find balance and trust. My early sessions will be learning what you need and your goals for therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I primarily use cognitive behavioral approaches, including CBT and DBT to increase awareness and personal skills. These things combined can be powerful now so that we can move forward and live our life on our terms, I believe that therapy is a close relationship and therefore always start with a brief consultation to see if we are a good fit. Afterwards, our first session is really about you telling me about yourself, your history, and what you want to get out of therapy. My goal is to be a companion and guide on your journey to be the person you want, living the life you want.
