Getting to know Hontah Epps

My Social Work career was initiated by my passion to support those within vulnerable populations, specifically within the child welfare system. I began my career as a Social Worker working within the Child Welfare system in New York City. In 2003, I relocated to Charlotte, NC and continued my work within Child Welfare as a Child Protective Services Social Worker. In 2008, I obtained my clinical licensure which initiated my move from providing direct clinical services to children, young adults and families. My clinical support is client-centered and strength-based. I have worked with children, young adults, and families to overcome significant challenges by encouraging an environment based on mutual respect. I am very excited about working with children, adolescents and young adults who are willing to try to overcome challenges.
