Hope Robinson, LPC

Psychotherapist
2535 N Lincoln Ave, C2, Chicago, IL
Hope specializes in working with individuals across the lifespan, with a focus on adults and couples navigating relationship challenges, relationship dissolution, sex and intimacy concerns, anxiety, OCD, emotional and behavioral challenges, and significant life transitions. She is deeply interested in the power of authentic human connection and fascinated by relationships—how they shape us, challenge us, and influence the way we understand ourselves and the people around us. The relationships we grow up with, the ones we choose, and the ones we struggle within can all offer insight into who we are. After all, every relationship we have has one thing in common: us. Hope is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Illinois. She received her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University Chicago and her B.A. in Psychology from Indiana University. She has completed Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy Certification and continues to expand her training in relationship, couples, sex, and intimacy-focused work. Outside of the therapy room, Hope enjoys running along the lakefront, discovering new restaurants around the city, taking Pilates classes, and spending time with friends, family, and furry friends.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Her therapeutic approach draws from psychoanalytic and humanistic perspectives while incorporating practical tools to support meaningful change. Hope believes therapy is not about having someone tell you how to fix your life or your relationship. Instead, it is a space to slow down, make sense of what you are experiencing, understand how it is impacting you, and explore what feels important to change or understand more deeply. She works collaboratively with clients to explore the patterns, experiences, and stories that shape how they relate to themselves and others. Hope’s style is warm, compassionate, and collaborative, while remaining thoughtfully direct when needed. She brings empathy, curiosity, and a sense of humor into the therapeutic space. She is committed to creating a culturally responsive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel safe showing up as who they are, who they have been, and who they are becoming.
