Hope Robinson, MS

Psychotherapist
3047 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL
Hope Robinson is a pre-licensed provider working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. I became a therapist because I believe deeply in the power of authentic human connection. From a young age, I knew what it felt like to carry too much too soon. My own experience with childhood anxiety showed me how vital early support can be. Therapy offered me more than tools; it gave me safety, space, and a sense of belonging. I often think of therapy as a lighthouse: steady, present, and guiding. It does not steer your ship for you, but it reminds you that even in the thickest fog, you are not alone and there is a way forward. My role is to meet you in that fog with compassion, curiosity, and respect for the pace that healing takes. I believe true growth happens in relationships, in the brave and steady act of showing up. That belief is what fuels me. If and when you are ready, I will be here, ready to meet you exactly where you are.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I primarily work with children, adolescents, and young adults who are navigating emotional/behavioral challenges and life transitions. My clinical experience includes supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, body image concerns, selective mutism, identity explorations, as well as attachment/relational issues. In the past, I have engaged with parents and caregivers to create collaborative care plans that support emotional development across home, school, and therapy. My clients often come from diverse cultural backgrounds, and I place a strong emphasis on cultural humility in my work.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Clients who work with me can expect a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where it feels safe to be who you are, who you have been, and who you are becoming. I bring empathy, collaboration, and a sense of humor into the therapeutic space. Because I believe the strongest foundation for healing is the relationship we build together, that connection will always be my priority. Each session is thoughtfully shaped around your unique needs and goals. My approach draws from both psychodynamic and humanistic perspectives, giving us room to explore the deeper roots of your experiences while also creating practical tools you can use in daily life. Together, we will focus on developing healthier ways to cope, weaving those strategies into your routines, and building meaningful progress that lasts over time.
