From the very beginning, she has made every session feel comfortable and easy to navigate, and I’ve genuinely looked forward to our time together. Huong Ly Butel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California who has been practicing since 2000. She has a BS in Human Services and an MSW in Social Work. Huong gratefully has been in the field of medical social work for more than 20+ years, with the last 15 years spent as the Director of Social Services in a skilled nursing post-acute rehab facility. She has extensive experience working with clients and their families, who present with biopsychosocial challenges impacted by mental and behavioral health issues. Huong has a natural and empathetic ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and mobilizing/practicing from a strengths-based model. Huong believes all clients have the innate resiliency and ability to successfully work towards accomplishing goals and overcoming life’s challenges; they sometimes just need someone who has unconditional positive regard for them, allowing them a safe space to be vulnerable and to feel accepted.
Outside of work, Huong loves spending time with her husband, going on motorcycle trips, working out at the gym, hiking, chasing waterfalls, traveling, and trying out new restaurants. Self-care is a huge priority for her in assuring she is healthy and well for her clients.
