Welcome! My name is Ida, founder of Tea & Therapy Chicago. I provide compassionate, encouraging, and high-quality care through individual therapy services. I have a special interest working with WOC and POC in their 20s to 40s. Additionally, I hold niche expertise in working with Law Students and International Students. Most importantly, I welcome clients of all identities. Treatment concerns may include depression or anxiety, academic or occupational transitions, parenthood, and other stressors. As your therapist I will guide our working together to explore your strengths, values, and CBT interventions to equip you to overcome your challenging season. As a therapist who has a therapist, I know how important it is to take care of yourself. I celebrate you for considering therapy, and myself, as a way to support you in your season. I look forward to us working together!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Foundationally my work is person-centered, meaning "you are the captain of your ship". I trust that you are the expert in your life, and will find me a collaborator in our important work together. Additionally, I am guided by CBT school of thought to look at how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are influenced by each other.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Many clients that I work with are experiencing anxiety, depressive symptoms, or stress. The first session will delve into your current experience, life history, and building our therapeutic alliance. Soon after, we will discuss strengths, values, and your therapy goals. Depending on need, we may meet weekly, biweekly, or even monthly over a period of a few short months to over a year.
