With over 20 years of experience as both a licensed counselor and professor, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals through life’s most complex and challenging transitions. Whether you're navigating individual, relationship, family issues, trauma, anxiety, or depression, I offer a safe, inclusive, and compassionate space for healing and awareness. I’ve worked with clients from diverse backgrounds—including individuals, couples, at-risk youth, foster/adoptive families, and college students—and I bring a culturally responsive lens to all my work. My approach is highly personalized and trauma-informed, drawing from evidence-based practices such as CBT, solution-focused and narrative therapy, with a deep belief in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship. Along with talk therapy, I integrate mindfulness and somatic awareness into my work. I am a certified 200hr yoga teacher and I currently volunteer with the Prison Yoga Project, facilitating yoga sessions for incarcerated youth. I hope to help people through life's toughest transitions by offering a safe inclusive space for healing, specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship, and family issues, with a culturally responsive, compassionate approach.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe in a down to earth, diverse and eclectic client centered approach to therapy. Utilizing evidence based treatments from a holistic (i.e. bio/psycho/social), trauma-informed perspective I work to help my clients in empowering themselves to bring awareness, choice and their unique strengths to aid in making the changes they want in their lives. I have extensive training, educational background and practice in Family Systems, Solution Based, Narrative, and Gestalt and CBT Therapies. Further trainings in Non-Violent Communication, Mindfulness Behavioral Cognitive Therapy and Somatic Awareness, from Yoga Teacher Training are also employed and utilized.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), my goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences safely. Whether you’re coming to therapy for the first time or returning after a break, I want you to feel comfortable and empowered throughout the process. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to find out what's bringing you into counseling (what your history with mental health services is), checking on safety and offering emergency resources, before discussing next steps to appointment set up. In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other. I’ll ask about your current concerns, background, and what you hope to gain from therapy. This helps me understand how to best support you and so that we can collaboratively begin developing a treatment plan tailored to your needs. You're always welcome to share at your own pace—there’s no pressure to open up more than you're comfortable with. Ongoing sessions are typically 50 minutes long and centered around your goals. You can expect a mix of supportive dialogue, practical tools, and deeper reflection. Some sessions may be focused on coping strategies and problem-solving, while others might explore patterns, relationships, or past experiences. Every session is a collaborative space where your voice matters. You don’t have to have all the answers—we’ll explore things together. My goal is to help you feel heard, gain clarity, and make meaningful progress toward the changes you want in your life. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, or just feeling stuck, I'm here to support your journey with compassion and respect.
