What should a new client know about working with you?

At Best Intentions Therapy by YYW Services, you are supported by a coordinated group practice of licensed therapists. Our style is warm, structured, and practical—balancing genuine human connection with evidence-based therapeutic tools. We focus on understanding patterns related to anxiety, trauma, stress, relationships, and life transitions while also building skills that translate into real-world change. You can expect collaboration, transparency, and respect for your pace. Sessions are goal-oriented without being rushed, and insight is paired with actionable strategies such as emotional regulation, boundary-setting, communication skills, and structured problem-solving. When appropriate, we coordinate Medi-Cal services including ECM, Community Supports, Justice-Involved services, CalGETS problem gambling and addiction services, and free community care for eligible low-income members.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We begin by creating safety, clarity, and a shared understanding of your goals. Early sessions focus on what brings you in now, your current stressors, symptoms, strengths, and supports. Together, we identify realistic treatment targets and develop a clear plan so therapy feels focused and purposeful from the start. Ongoing sessions are structured yet flexible. They often include a brief check-in, identifying the main concern for the session, skill-building or problem-solving work, and a simple plan to support progress between sessions. We regularly review goals and adjust care as needs change. As a group practice, we coordinate across levels of care when needed—including Medi-Cal ECM, Community Supports, Justice-Involved services, or CalGETS—so clients are supported without having to navigate complex systems alone. Our goal is consistent progress, improved daily functioning, and care that fits real life.
