Congrats on taking the first step in finding a brighter future! I would be happy to help you on this journey by being present in the moment with you, listening fully, and giving pointers along the way. I believe in offering something for immediate use in every session so that you don't leave worse than when you came in. An example would be working on past trauma in session but leaving with a plan of action for something that is also bothering you in the present. This allows you to find some relief during this tough journey. If something is more pressing in the present, we can also pause trauma processing to work through that issue. As a Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Arizona State University, I offer more than therapy—I also provide resources if needed along with life skills. My approach When clients are with me, it is like being with a close friend—someone you can share your worst thoughts, actions, and emotions with, without fear of judgment. I give honest feedback and sometimes real-time solutions in a kind, compassionate way, which can also be challenging at times. Good things come out of hard work, and I want to help with this part of the process. I use a variety of treatment modalities in sessions because they are not one-size-fits-all. I think of this as my "meeting you where you are" approach. I ask for honest feedback about any approach I am using or anything I say that might stir up mixed emotions. I do my best to be transparent and real in all my sessions, and I seek this in those I serve as well. My clients guide the sessions when they are able to do so because it is their resilience that makes the journey possible. I am also a firm believer in listening to the body for guidance. If the body signals that a break from a topic is needed, then we take a break or find alternative ways to soothe that part.
