Hi, I'm Irene. It's very nice to meet you! Do you feel overwhelmed and stuck? Does it feel hard to keep up with everything, or have you lost the motivation to do things? Are you feeling too much worry and anxiety? I help people explore where their anxiety may be coming from or what is contributing to depression, as well as how to manage those feelings. Worries, depression, anxiety, and stress can make us feel out of balance in work or school, friendships and relationships, and how we relate to and take care of ourselves. Together, we work to find what you need to feel less worry and anxiety and to feel more motivated (hint: we don't wait for motivation, we go after it!) to reduce feelings of overwhelm and stuckness. I use a cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral approach (pretty much a thinking-doing-mindfulness approach), along with perspective and processing, to help you learn tools to feel more balanced. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, which has equipped me with the skills to support you effectively. Starting therapy can be scary, but it can also be very rewarding and help you move forward and get unstuck. I look forward to working with you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

After our first session, we will meet for follow up sessions at a frequency that works for you and that makes sense to help you get the most out of counseling. We'll spend time talking about what is going on in your life, feelings, stressors, and we'll also spend time looking at how what is going on in your life is impacting your day to day. I'll help you learn tools and skills to help manage symptoms, manage stress, problem solve, and improve relationships. I use an informal and laid back approach, even with homework.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
