Hi there, I'm Irene! My name is Irene Velasquez, and I am an EMDR-trained therapist. Some topics I like to help my clients work through include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, learning coping skills, burnout, and more. I am excited to be accepting new clients. If you are ready to begin your therapy journey, this is your sign to check me out and get started. My approach I use person-centered talk therapy, EMDR, and a combination of different techniques from CBT and DBT at times. Each treatment plan is tailored to the needs of the client. My focus I support clients with learning coping skills to increase self-esteem, manage depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress. I do not do couples therapy or family therapy. My communication style I use a person-centered approach, praise, and validation. I am nurturing and compassionate. I like to teach coping skills, somatic skills, mindfulness, grounding exercises, and provide resources. My journey to mental healthcare I love helping people and supporting them in their healing journey. My goals for you I work with clients to ask what goals they have in mind, and together we make a plan to achieve those goals. My first session with you I gather history and ask questions, setting aside time at the end to teach a coping skill.
