She sees her role in treatment as providing a nonjudgmental environment that supports honest self-exploration. Iris recognizes that biology and environment influence how individuals process their experiences. She understands that many people’s life experiences include challenges related to racism, immigration stressors, socioeconomic status, culture, gender, and sexuality. Iris believes that the effects of intersectionality, marginalization, and ongoing interactions with oppressive systems often exacerbate mental health conditions. She has experience applying techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

Please note that our specialty is talk therapy. We DO NOT provide medication management or prescription refills. We DO NOT specialize in treatment for substance or alcohol use.
