Psychotherapist
TX
I am a licensed professional counselor and supervisor with over 13 years of experience in the mental health field. My professional career began with receiving my degree in Theology from Florida Theological Seminary, then eventually completing my Theological studies at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I continued my education by receiving my BA in Psychology from Langston University, and went on to receive my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern State University. The combination of a Theological and Therapeutic approach allows me to reach my clients from a Holistic approach. It is this unique training that I incorporate in my counseling to assist one in achieving full homeostasis by focusing on the body, mind, and soul. I incorporate a Solution Focused/CBT approach. We work collaboratively to understand and resolve the core issues and barriers that have been a barrier to reaching full potential. I have extensive experience working with Marriage and Family Issues, adolescents, ADHD, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, adjusting to life challenges, dual diagnosis, and Christian Counseling. My greatest asset to the counseling experience is my ability to empathize as well as sympathize with my clients, as I have faced much adversity in my life and have had to overcome many obstacles to become successful. I believe you cannot get someone where they need to go, if you have not been where they have been. I realize that choosing to take issues of concerns that are affecting you and your loved ones to a professional counselor is a difficult choice, but it is an important first step in achieving the cohesiveness you so desire, and together we can establish creative new ways to approach and successfully deal with life’s challenges.
