Getting to know Ismarie Fernandez
I have a master’s degree in social work (MSW) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Florida. I have around 5 years of experience working with individuals experiencing issues with substance use, mental health and life stressors. I have worked as a bilingual therapist providing individual and group therapy in a variety of clinical settings treating clients from diverse backgrounds. I specialize in providing treatment to individuals struggling with addiction, emotional issues, anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, self-esteem problems, and life transitions. I consider that each person has a unique journey to discover and utilize their strengths and qualities to improve their emotional and physical well-being through the therapeutic process. Therefore, I believe in empathetically validating the feelings of each client within their own experiences and compassionately providing treatment based on their own individualized needs. I believe in empowering my clients to reach their goal to achieve a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. My approach to treatment is using a combination of different therapy models and psychoeducation, so you can be able to acquire insight, and expand your knowledge on coping skills to strengthen your self-confidence to face life challenges and decrease feelings of frustration and uneasiness. I believe in therapy being at your pace, and it can be readjusted and adapted, depending on what works for you and what makes you comfortable.
