Getting to know Ivy Wenrich

Hi, my name is Ivy, and I specialize in Life Transitions, Stress Management, Identity Development, Anxiety, Depression, Setting Healthy Boundaries, Trauma and Childhood Trauma, and PTSD. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor's degree from Temple University. I view therapy as a place for healing, growth, and exploration, and I am honored to help facilitate that process as a therapist. Perhaps you are feeling a bit hesitant about seeking therapy, or perhaps you are feeling determined as you take this step toward wellbeing-no matter where you are in your therapy journey, I am here to walk alongside you. I recognize the courage it takes to seek support, and I am proud of you for taking this step.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach therapy through a relational lens, and forming a strong therapeutic relationship is foundational to my work. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel welcomed, understood, and empowered as you move toward healing. As a client-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based therapist, I tailor our work to your unique needs and preferences. I wanted to inform you of a policy we have in place to maintain a supportive and secure environment for all our clients. We recently began offering services to male clients, and to accommodate the safety and comfort of our predominantly female client base, we do not see male clients in person. All appointments will be held via telehealth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My integrative approach draws from a variety of modalities, including CBT, mindfulness, mind-body practices, guided breathing, motivational interviewing, and art therapy. I’m also informed by psychodynamic and intersectional feminist theories, with a commitment to anti-racist and anti-oppression values. My goal is to help you build inner peace, emotional safety, and a deeper connection with yourself. Goals are fluid, and I remain flexible in our work to meet you where you are.
