“She is direct, pleasurable and honest; forthright, wise and tactful with speaking to me as a person who has been traumatized seeking help late in life. She is gentle and kind as she professionally interacts with me. I I’m good. I’m waiting on my order. The human touch that is not threatening is just as important as the conversation being had.”

Getting to know J Dumas

I am J. Dumas, and I hold a PsyD in Applied Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School, as well as a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Avila University. I am a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) originally from New Orleans, LA. I have traveled extensively, learning about different cultures and practices, which has enriched my approach to therapy. I believe therapy is about “treating people on an energetic level.” My goal is for you to feel that healing can begin from within and extend outward to others. We all struggle in different capacities, and through learning, growth, and mutual support, we can help one another along the way. I am excited to join you on your life's journey and hope to have the opportunity to help you create progress toward positive and healthy life changes.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
