Getting to know Jacob Monkarsh

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #123213, #2045) and Certified Group Psychotherapist who is passionate about working with Individuals, Couples and Groups to create a safe space that fosters insight and growth. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Chapman University and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from the California School of Professional Psychology. I have worked in several different settings such as schools, treatment centers, community clinics and private practice which has allowed me the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and issues. During my time at the Maple Counseling Center I received in-depth training in psychodynamic therapy working with individuals and groups. I have also worked extensively with adolescents and their families in both school settings and in a residential/IOP treatment facilities. As a member of the Group Psychotherapy Association of Los Angeles (GPALA) and the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) I am certified as a Certified Group Psychotherapist and am trained in Attachment-EMDR.
