He is so easy to talk to, and collaborates with you regarding a treatment method that works best. (I asked him to please not tell me to journal ??) He has really helped me through some tough personal and family issues, as well as giving me unbiased, thoughtful opinions, when I need them. I always have more clarity on any topic we discuss, once our sessions are through. He is a great choice for anyone who needs a level head amidst their personal chaos. ”

Getting to know Jacob Yohay
I specialize in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relational issues, identity exploration, and similar challenges. I focus on creating a warm and supportive space where you can learn to be kinder to yourself while also working to become the person you want to be. I have experience with a number of therapeutic approaches, but I also believe that we are complex individuals who are always richer than any theory can fully capture. At its best, therapy is a collaboration: you bring your expertise in yourself and your history, and I bring my therapeutic knowledge, and together we work to make things better-whatever that means to you.
My work is frequently trauma-focused. Trauma can mean many things to many people, but in a broad sense, I believe many of us carry forward coping strategies we learned in childhood that no longer serve us as well as they used to. I can help you find new ways to approach old wounds.
I hold a Master's in Social Work from New York University, which has equipped me with a strong foundation to support you on your journey.
