What should a new client know about working with you?

Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, and I strive to make that first step as comfortable as possible. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and respected. I work with individuals, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, and communication difficulties. I believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Every client brings unique experiences, strengths, and goals, so I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs. Depending on what you're working through, I may incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and other evidence-based approaches. Therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we'll identify your goals, build practical coping skills, strengthen relationships, and work through the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. My approach is compassionate, supportive, and honest. I strive to create a safe environment where you can explore difficult emotions while also feeling empowered to make meaningful, lasting changes. Whether you're navigating a difficult season, healing from past experiences, improving your relationships, or simply looking to better understand yourself, I'm committed to helping you develop the insight, confidence, and skills needed to create a healthier, more fulfilling life. My goal is to meet you where you are and support you every step of the way.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is primarily focused on getting to know you and completing the intake process. We'll review your intake paperwork, discuss confidentiality, answer any questions you may have about therapy, and explore what brought you to counseling. We'll also discuss your personal history, current concerns, strengths, and the goals you'd like to work toward so we can begin developing a treatment plan that fits your unique needs. During the second session, we'll begin focusing more deeply on your treatment goals. We'll review any additional information from the intake, identify patterns that may be contributing to your concerns, and start introducing interventions and practical strategies tailored to your specific needs. Because I believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all, I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and other therapeutic modalities as appropriate. As therapy continues, we'll regularly check in on your progress, celebrate successes, address challenges, and adjust our approach as your needs evolve. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling supported, understood, and equipped with practical tools that you can begin applying in your everyday life.
