Jacqueline Gilligan, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NY
I approach therapy with warmth, empathy, and a strong belief that people deserve a space where they feel safe to be themselves. My goal is to create an environment where clients feel comfortable speaking openly about what they are experiencing and supported as they work toward meaningful change. I work with adolescents and adults in individual therapy, as well as couples navigating relationship challenges and communication difficulties. Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or unsure how to move forward. Together, we focus on working through those challenges in a way that feels manageable and supportive. As an affirming therapist, I work well with clients who are navigating questions around identity, relationships, and personal values. I also provide therapy in both English and Spanish and enjoy working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and completed my Master of Social Work at Fordham University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When people begin therapy with me, one of the first things they often notice is how comfortable it feels to talk openly. I work hard to create a space where clients feel genuinely heard and understood. My style is supportive and collaborative. I believe that therapy works best when clients feel respected, accepted, and able to explore their thoughts and emotions without pressure. Together, we focus on understanding what you are going through and finding ways to move forward that feel realistic and meaningful for you.
