NJ
The provider is a "Associate Marriage and Family Therapist" with license number 37FA00030200, practicing under the supervision of Christiana Awosan. Jacqueline earned her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Kean University where she completed research on non-traditional couples and what makes them successful. She also co-chaired a workshop for couples entitled "Cleave to Love.” Jacqueline has had the honor to be invited to speak on domestic violence, but she specializes in many aspects of couples therapy. She also supports clients with Issues related to self-esteem and anxiety as well as those looking to add a spiritual element to their therapy. “Past events and relationships can impact our emotions which directly affect our behaviors. In other words, experiencing hurt in the past impacts how we currently perceive things and ultimately shapes our choices.” Jacqueline’s Approach: Jacqueline begins at the root of why her clients often feel unsatisfied. She guides them through an exploration of childhood teachings, racial traumas, unclear boundaries, or other events throughout their life span to address unresolved feelings showing up in their thoughts and actions. She also helps her clients highlight unproductive patterns that may be inhibiting them from finding more effective ideas for achieving their goals. “I believe that one of my most important jobs as a therapist is to create a space that will allow you to feel comfortable exploring your innermost thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I aim to have my clients feel heard and understood in their sessions, while also offering them insight into the experiences from a clinical perspective. If you are ready to do the work, I am here to guide and support you on your journey with validation, teaching and empowerment.”
