Getting to know Jacqueline Liszewski

Hi there, I'm Jacqueline! My clients describe me as attentive, empathetic, and personable. I have 12 years of experience working with juveniles, people with disabilities, mental health, and addiction. I like to challenge my clients because change is uncomfortable but necessary. I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I am genuinely curious, so getting to know you is exciting for me. My approach I have experienced trauma, grief, and loss. I acquired a disability at 13, so I matured early. I combine what I learned in school with real-life experience. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Illinois Chicago. Bottom line, we are all human and make mistakes. Managing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors is complex. I use humor during sessions, even if I seem a little dorky. I am myself during sessions and encourage clients to see me as a person first to build a real therapeutic relationship. My focus Therapy can be hard. Whatever brought you here, I am here to listen and assist. You are the driver, and we move at your speed. I will challenge you and encourage flexibility. I want you to take yourself seriously and commit to frank conversations. I want you to learn accountability, self-compassion, self-care, and the importance of boundaries in relationships. Overall, I want clients who want to make changes. My communication style I have an open and direct communication style. I am very understanding and care deeply for my clients. My journey to mental healthcare I have sought and continue to seek therapy through difficult times. I have also experienced less skilled therapists and left unhappy.
