What should a new client know about working with you?

In my therapy sessions, I strive to create a warm and nonjudgmental environment that fosters trust and open communication. My personality is characterized by empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help my clients navigate their emotional challenges. I believe in building a strong therapeutic alliance, which forms the foundation for effective therapy. My therapy style is integrative, drawing from various theoretical approaches such as cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and humanistic therapies. I tailor my approach based on each client's unique needs and preferences, utilizing techniques that are evidence-based and proven to be effective. During sessions, I encourage clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a safe space. I employ active listening, reflection, and validation to help clients gain insights into their inner experiences. I also teach coping skills, problem-solving strategies, and mindfulness techniques to empower clients in managing their challenges. I conduct my sessions with a structured yet flexible framework, allowing space for exploration and discovery. Each session typically begins with a check-in to assess current emotional states and set goals for the session. Throughout the session, I guide clients in exploring their concerns, processing emotions, and developing strategies for personal growth. I also provide psychoeducation and resources to support clients in applying what they learn in therapy to their daily lives. Overall, my approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and empowerment. I believe in the inherent resilience and potential for growth within each individual, and I am committed to helping my clients uncover their strengths and achieve their therapeutic goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A successful therapy session for clients is characterized by a sense of validation, understanding, and progress. Clients should leave feeling heard, supported, and equipped with new insights and tools to navigate their challenges. The goal is to foster self-awareness, promote emotional healing, and empower clients to make positive changes in their lives. Through a combination of active listening, empathy, evidence-based interventions, and personalized strategies, I hope that I can help clients unlock their potential, improve their mental health, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Success is achieved when clients experience increased self-esteem, enhanced coping skills, improved relationships, and a greater sense of overall well-being. Ultimately, the aim is to facilitate growth, resilience, and transformation in clients' lives, guiding them towards a more fulfilling and authentic existence.

Jackie is my first therapist ever, but she is absolutely amazing. She really cares about her work and ABOUT YOU! I highly recommend her for first time people considering to do therapy she has multiple approaches and takes her time with you to get to know you first and depending on that will pick an approach that suits you well. She actually makes you feel wowed at the end of each session and you really want to go back to therapy because you KNOW this will be an incredible and totally worth it healing journey. Again, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I had my first therapy session today. It felt really good to just sit down and dump everything that’s been on my mind on someone who can be objective. She was a very good listener and I am very eager to get back in for another session.
Punctual. Kind. Warm. Open.

I got a lot out of it, she made me rethink things I didn't want to talk about with anyone. When you have a partner and still feel like a failure and can never measure up, or feel like a burden, feel like people judge you so you keep to yourself because you still feel like that little kid who grew up poor. I'm not scared to tell me story anymore. I want people to get the help and she got me a support group back to feeling more like a version I'd like
I have been seeing my therapist for 2 years. I moved from Mexico at the age of 16. I was alone, without most my family, and I guess it wasn't that different from Mexico where I was working by the age of 13 for my brothers. She helped me understand and accept my parents but not approve of their decision. We work on DBT I think it's what that's called. I felt distanced to them and felt like I had to start growing up too young and not talking about this until I had kids and not knowing how to say anything without trying not to say anything bad about their grandparents was hard and I realized for my kids I needed to see someone. I started seeing her, and each session I go to my wife, began telling her some more stories I was to ashamed of telling and yes I am still working on it but a least I'm not embarrassed or ashamed or where I come from and the people who tried to do their best for me.
I was dealing with grief after I lost my wife, my kids relationship changed after he died, and I felt like I had no control anymore. She took her time with me listening and giving me ideas on how to change my house so I wasn't re-traumatized, helped me realize that I wasn't getting the respect I deserved or even appreciating myself for pulling myself out of the hole of depression I was in.
I have been in a lot of different relationships, I struggled because I couldn't do commitment because of some trauma in my past, and didn't communicate well with men or women or my family. I guess even I didn't know what wanted in my relationship with them, sometimes I felt like it was too late to repair it. I hated how I acted, and smoked marijuana and drank and to be honest the first session she looks young but God that girl is smart. The depression felt like it had its own personality and I had to see that and meet her. The smoking wasn't working anymore and I felt like I was stuck. Se helped me each week and didn't judge me. Go to her, run!
