Jacqueline McIntosh, LMHC

Psychotherapist
FL
As a licensed Mental Health Counselor, I've earned my master's degree from Walden University and adopted a therapeutic approach that merges empathy, compassion, effective listening, genuineness, solution-focused methods, strength-based perspective, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). If you're feeling stuck in life, I'm here to facilitate exploration and encourage forward momentum. Outside my professional life, I relish dancing, music, miniature golf, tennis, shopping, reading and watching a good movie. When we have our first session, you'll discover my collaborative and warm approach. I view therapy as a partnership where your experiences, insights, and goals steer the process, and my role is to support you in identifying patterns, building coping strategies, and rediscovering your strengths. You may be here for a specific purpose or perhaps you're unsure of what you need, either is fine. We can start from wherever feels most comfortable for you. Some people like to start with recent concerns, while others prefer discussing their history first. Remember, there's no right way to commence. Strengths I contribute to our sessions include active listening, empathy, effective communication, building rapport, problem-solving, therapeutic expertise, and cultural sensitivity all aimed to foster growth, healing, and positive change. Over the past 10 years, my work has spanned from a Substance Abuse Counselor and Group Facilitator to counseling families, individuals, the sheltered homeless population, first responders, and the geriatric population. My passion for service extends to helping others grow and become their best selves. My experience includes managing anxiety, depression, couples counseling, faith-based counseling, self-esteem issues, trauma/PTSD, behavioural issues, and more.
