I know how hard life can be. Things can feel so overwhelming, and you may get lost in where to even start to make things okay again. Maybe you have started noticing how your mood is affecting the things closest to you, whether it is family, friends, or work. I want to help you come up with ways to work through the day-to-day. With the right skills and by looking at things from a different perspective, you can learn to focus on the present moment. Let's work on moving forward by accepting the past and enjoying things in the now. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University, and I am committed to supporting you on this journey toward healing and growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am certified in Dialectical Behavior therapy, but I take different approaches (Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing), based on what the client's needs are. I want my clients to be comfortable and open about what is going on their lives and know there will be no judgement when they connect with me. The sessions are for you. I will meet you where you are at and process what you want to process. I may push at times to get to the root of the issue, but that is to help with your growth in therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we connect, I will ask questions about the past, but I won't stay focused there. I want to get an idea of what things were like when you were younger up till now. I will provide handouts, worksheets, or reading material if needed for reinforcement after the session. I am open to communication between sessions, so if you need to message me about something that's going on, I am okay with that. Just understand, that depending on my schedule, it can be up to a couple hours before I can respond. If it is urgent, please mark it as so. The weekends, it may not be till Monday, before a response is given.

Felt heard and supported. Glad to be able to take steps for my health.

This is the second time that this provider has not shown for a scheduled virtual visit of mine. There is no communication in advance, and no accountability taken afterwards. She also didn’t know who I was during our second session; she asked me “What brought me to therapy,” despite my very emotional recounting less than a week prior. I have found another provider who hopefully will prioritize my time and my care. Clearly, patients are not Jacqueline’s priority.

I had a scheduled virtual appointment with this provider. My child and I waited in the virtual meeting room for 20 minutes with no appearance. I called the office twice during that time and received no answer. I left a voicemail and never received a return call. This lack of communication and follow-through is unacceptable, especially when working with children and families who arrange their schedules around appointments. Extremely unprofessional experience.
