Getting to know Jacqueline Ritz

My passion is working with adults across the lifespan, from various professional and cultural backgrounds. I extend a relational, integrative approach to treatment using dialectical (DBT) and cognitive behavioral (CBT) techniques to assist you in uncovering self-defeating thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interfering with present-day living. My approach includes Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Culturally Sensitive, Dialectical Behavior (DBT), Emotionally Focused, Existential, Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Family/Marital, Integrative, Interpersonal, Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), Narrative, Person-Centered, Rational Emotive Behavior (REBT), Reality Therapy, Relational, Strength-Based, and Trauma Focused methods. My ideal client is anyone seeking their own answers to discover true purpose and meaning in life. They are willing to look within at their own suffering and discover that they need not suffer in their mind any longer. I listen with full empathy and compassion, actively and with full participation. I communicate by asking questions rather than telling clients answers. I assist clients in finding their own truth and guide them toward self-awareness and self-discovery so they are empowered to live a life of purpose and meaning. My fascination with the science of human behavior drew me into therapy, and personal experiences with mental health challenges inspired me to become a therapist. I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University, Chicago, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Successful progress for my clients means freedom from suffering in their heads. It means understanding past trauma and letting it go, fully surrendering through acceptance of what IS, not identifying with the critical voice in the head, and living only in the NOW. In our first session, I conduct an assessment to determine the areas you need to work on in order to heal.
