Facing challenges in life's various transitions can feel so overwhelming. Finding a therapeutic partner to help with navigating these challenges can truly make a positive difference. I am here to help you with this journey. My approach My approach to therapy is person-centered and is guided by the principles of Motivational Interviewing. As I partner with my client to assist with this journey, cognitive behavioral tools are often introduced to help name and reframe negative inner messages. Focusing on the Gestalt, or the whole person, is integral to optimal self-love and healing. With my background in education and vocational rehabilitation counseling, in addition to mental health therapy, psychoeducation is provided, as appropriate, to assist with insight, naming, and taming real or perceived obstacles. It is truly an honor and a privilege to partner with others in their therapeutic journey. My focus I believe I am effective in working with clients who are facing relationship challenges, exploring personal and/or career goals, struggling with depression or anxiety, processing grief or unresolved trauma, and other challenges. My goal is to help clients develop a path forward so that healing and empowerment can be experienced. The therapeutic approach I use is guided by the needs of the client. My communication style Whether you are processing unresolved trauma, struggling with depression and anxiety, sitting with grief, facing organizational and motivation challenges, experiencing career-related difficulties, or exploring your personal goals, I will meet you where you are to develop a plan that works for you. My journey to mental healthcare I became a counselor in 1986 and have been blessed and honored to work with others in their journeys since that time. As a child, I experienced some losses and traumas that I never fully processed until my early adulthood, and doing so changed my life for the better.
