Psychotherapist
NC
I counsel from a Christian perspective using cognitive behavioral therapy because statistics show the way you think determines how you feel. However, I do not push religion on anyone and I respect your opinions about religion. I believe in solution focused brief therapy because therapy does not have to take years to produce results, but take as long as you need. I prefer working with adults because I believe as a mature person you have an insight into why you need therapy and will work to make the best of your time in session. I address depression and anxiety as the core of many mental health struggles. Communication is important and I try to make you feel relaxed and not judged so that you can open up and share what’s in your heart and understand that I care about you and will try to help you see your situation from a better perspective. I began suffering from mental health issues in 1992 and because of this I decided to study mental health and how it works. I earned a BS in Church Ministries, Masters in Mental Health Counseling and a Masters in Pastoral Counseling. Through my journey I learned that perspective is key. In life we will have troubles, situations and circumstances and how we view them will determine whether we will swim or sink. Swimming is always the best option, and I am here to throw you a life vest!
