Jahn Quattlebaum, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
I have been providing therapy in a variety of settings since 2011. My background as a paramedic and first responder led me to crisis work early in my career. I transitioned gradually from full-time EMS and wilderness medicine instructor roles during my years as an intern. My first full-time position was at The University of Texas at Tyler, where I worked with college students, providing education and early substance abuse intervention. I earned my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at Tyler, specializing in family counseling. Over time, my interest shifted toward more independent practice as higher education began to change drastically. I had the distinction of working as a counselor for the University of Alabama, where the level of skills required matched those of any setting in which mental health professionals can reasonably practice. My work there as a crisis intervention specialist led to a contract with the Department of Defense at the Air Force base in Abilene. Changing environments and responsibilities eventually brought me to telehealth and online platform work, expanding the possibilities for client engagement. I currently have clients from Europe, Canada, Australia, and many U.S. states where reciprocity is recognized in certain circumstances. I am dual licensed in Texas and Colorado, and in Texas, I hold licenses as both an LPC and an LCDC. About half of my current practice focuses on couples counseling.
