Getting to know Jaime Podgorny

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with Finding Peace Therapy. I hold two Master Degrees including a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). We will work together to identify and build on your unique strengths as you address your specific challenges. You are the expert on your own life, and I am honored to support your journey as a thoughtful sounding board and guide. Drawing on evidence-based approaches, I aim to create a safe, supportive environment where we can explore the techniques that best fit your needs and goals. My therapeutic background is trauma-informed which provides me with great experience working to decrease overlapping symptoms including: anxiety, depression, addiction, self-esteem issues, marital stress, generational trauma, and interpersonal difficulties. Each situation will be approached with patience and respect as we navigate through them. We will gently challenge limiting beliefs and behaviors. I employ both traditional therapeutic techniques like talk therapy and journaling, as well as more creative techniques like expression through visual art, movement, or humor. I highly value cultural humility and repair in relationships. I value all diverse identities and believe they should be celebrated. Together we will practice healthy resolution of differences. I believe in our mission of finding peace within ourselves so that we can better navigate our lives with grace and compassion for all.
