Jameka Caffie, LPC

Psychotherapist
AL
Hi there, I'm Jameka! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's in Community Counseling from Troy University and over 17 years of experience in the counseling and mental health field. I have worked with diverse populations, including those who are severely mentally ill, struggling with addictions, geriatrics, corrections, and adolescents. My goal for every client I encounter is for them to become the best version of themselves. My approach My most common theoretical approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Rational-Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Integrative Therapy. My focus I work with clients facing depression, anxiety, phobias, trauma, low self-esteem, mood disorders, and anger issues. I also work with couples who have trouble seeing eye to eye. I love what I do. My communication style My communication style is tailored to each individual I counsel. I provide a judgment-free environment and always strive to build outstanding rapport. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because I have always wanted to help people through some of their darkest hours. Having experienced difficult times myself, I understand how hard it can be to face them alone. When you have someone to confide in, assist you through the hard times, and remind you that you are not alone, it makes a difference. This is what drives me every day in this profession. My goals for you I approach goal setting as a joint effort. Together, we will establish the goals that need to be set. My first session with you The first sessions are meet-and-greet sessions. They are also when I learn what brought you to counseling, and you get to learn a little about me.
