James Ballester, LPC

Psychotherapist
PA
Perhaps you struggle with depression or anxiety and feel overwhelmed trying to manage the stress of daily living. You may find yourself resorting to substance use or other compulsive behaviors as a way to cope with daily stressors. You are committed to change and have tried to change but lack the deeper awareness of what is driving these behaviors. It can be disheartening to acknowledge the unwanted impact on your life and on your valued relationships. My guiding principle as a therapist comes in the form of a question: what's it like being you? My therapeutic skills involve exploring how you view yourself, your relationships, and the way you interpret your lived experience. I draw from CBT, attachment theory, exploration of existential issues, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed therapy. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Chestnut Hill College, which has shaped my approach to helping clients. My goal is to facilitate meaningful, helpful, and transformative conversations that revolve around understanding you and helping you develop useful tools for change. I will guide our sessions with this in mind as we work together, allowing you to feel understood in specific ways that promote growth and healing.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of- network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
