James Clark, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm James! My name is James Clark, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Orange County, California, providing therapy through telehealth throughout the state. I earned my Master's in Social Work from California State University, Fullerton. I work with adults and specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Schema Therapy. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship and mutual understanding are key to reaching my clients' goals. My approach I use reflective and active listening while applying a person-centered, strengths-based approach. Other modalities I incorporate include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness. I believe every person has the right to develop into the best version of themselves, and being part of that process is something that should be honored and respected by the therapist. My focus I work with adults aged 18 to 65 or older, regardless of background, identity, or beliefs. Typically, I support individuals facing substance use issues, depression, anxiety, anger, emotional trauma, communication challenges, or some combination of these. Together, we explore how thoughts and feelings influence their lives so they can regain control and achieve a self-nurturing, fulfilling life. My communication style My top priority is ensuring my clients feel heard, understood, and respected. I do this by keeping my clients “in the driver's seat” throughout each session. I foster a safe environment where clients can freely express what's on their minds without fear of judgment. My journey to mental healthcare My own mental health journey inspired me to become a therapist. I believe therapy can be a transformative and empowering experience for both client and therapist.
