James Kane, AMFT

James Kane, AMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, eating disorders, and anxiety. I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University. I have experience supporting clients in recovery from eating disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders in outpatient settings as well as in higher levels of care. I understand the unique pressures of working in the arts and entertainment industry and offer care to those who struggle to balance external image with internal thoughts. I utilize a non-judgmental, casual, and creative style of therapy, informed by various modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Radically-Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Polyvagal Therapy. I work collaboratively with clients to determine when finding your narrative can help you identify how you see yourself in your worldview, or when a “bottom-up” or skills-based approach may be more supportive. My goal is to empower you with the right tools and information to build the skills needed to get the most out of life. After reflecting on the impact the last few years have made, if you are experiencing echoes of isolation, fear, or overwhelm, you deserve a safe, collaborative space to explore “What's next?” We will work together to locate your core values, reconnect to a sense of purpose, and find more ease in everyday life. James Kane is currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Their CA license number is 131638, and their current employer is Torri Efron Pelton.
