Psychotherapist
CO
My wife and I are Licensed Clinical Social Workers and have been practicing clinical therapy for four years. A pillar of our 45-year journey together has been the experimentation and practice of mental, philosophical, spiritual, and evidence based curriculum for positive personal evolution. I believe we are our own experiments. To me, that is a primary function of therapy; identifying and experimenting with what does or does not work for improving the quality of life for ourselves and each varied individual. Being in my sixties allows me to draw on an abundance of experience with family, career, and social environments to draw from. I employ a multitude of treatment modalities with trainings that include but not limited to: Rural Mental Health; EMDR, Brainspotting; Overcoming Disabling Thoughts; End of Life Counseling, Grief Therapy, and Grandparents Raising Grandchildren. My certifications include: CITI, GCP-Social and Behavioral Research Best Practices for Clinical Research, Positive Youth Development, Early Childhood Professional Development Information System (PDIS): Currently I am serving clients ages 14 to 70 for individual and couples therapy. I frequently employ Acceptance/Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Training, Growth Mindset Therapy, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), Schema Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, and Philosophical Counseling I highly respect the client centered approach as we are the only experts of our own lives. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of mental health treatment. My goal in sessions is to meet the client where they are at, help them identify where they want to be, and work with them at their pace using therapeutic skills/tools and/or approaches to get there. There is nothing complicated about any method or modality of mental health treatment, they are all unbelievably simple. The journey of change itself is the challenge.
