He is a trauma-informed therapist who attended seminars given by Bessel van der Kolk, focusing on the physical and psychological effects of traumatic experiences. James earned his Master's in Social Work from the State University of New York, Stony Brook. He has a keen interest in working with other addictive behaviors such as OCD, gambling and sex addiction, and codependency. In addition, he has treated symptoms of depression and anxiety, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. His modes of treatment include individual, group, couples, and family therapy.
