Getting to know James McAndrew

I see therapy as a unique opportunity for people to learn more about themselves: their pain, fears, struggles, strengths, hopes, and dreams. In doing so, we can work to overcome past pains and progress towards the life you have always wanted. I am committed to working with individuals as they take this journey of discovery and change. I seek to form authentic relationships with clients in order to create a comfortable and safe environment. I practice from a psychodynamic perspective. This means that I will work with you to understand how your past influences your present. This can only be done in a non-judgmental and welcoming environment in which you feel secure and accepted. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from La Salle University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you effectively. I currently offer individual sessions via telehealth. Please do not hesitate to contact me to schedule a free consultation to see if we are a good fit. Choosing a therapist is a difficult and important decision; whatever you decide, I wish you the best.

What should a new client know about working with you?

After our initial session you can expect to walk away feeling at ease and hopeful. As we continue to work together you should always feel that you are being treated respectfully and non-judgmentally. Each session will leave you with improved coping skills as well as new ways of looking at things. While the problems that brought you into therapy might not go away immediately, you will feel more capable of confronting them and managing your emotions after each session.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
