My name is James Rowe, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Shreveport, Louisiana, working with clients statewide via Telehealth. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Louisiana Tech University. I work with adult clients to heal unresolved interpersonal issues by guiding them toward new insights and perspectives, while helping them gain tools and skills for positive change and growth. Throughout my 20-plus years as a counselor, I have developed a unique style and approach that effectively supports clients in healing and growing in their relationships with themselves and others, as well as developing a healthier worldview. My approach to therapy varies based on my clients’ presenting problems. I utilize techniques from multiple theoretical approaches, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Biofeedback, Reality Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Rational-Emotive Behavioral Therapy. I have found that integrating multiple approaches is vital to resolving my clients’ issues. I provide individual and couples therapy, specializing in PTSD, relational and childhood trauma, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, life transition issues, relationship challenges, and other mood disorders. My specialty lies in working with clients struggling with trauma, anxiety, stress, and relational issues, though I also offer effective treatment for a wide range of interpersonal and mood-related concerns. My communication style is warm, inviting, open, compassionate, and non-judgmental. While I believe it is important at times to gently challenge my clients’ thoughts and beliefs, I always do so with the utmost empathy.
