James Ryan, LMHC

James Ryan, LMHC

Psychotherapist
1 Ellinwood Ct, New Hartford, NY
I have over 40 years of experience working with children and adolescents, having served in adolescent inpatient settings as a therapist and psychologist, as well as working with adults in outpatient clinic settings. I hold a Master’s in Psychology from Syracuse University. I have had much success working with clients with anger control issues and ADHD features, and I have extensive experience supporting clients with depression and suicidal ideation. Additionally, I have a strong background in family therapy and over 20 years of experience coaching a variety of high school sports. I have a particular interest in working with teens struggling with anger control, focusing much of my practice on developing coping skills and self-control strategies. My background in coaching and sports is a valuable asset in connecting with my clients. As a former athlete and high school sports coach, I greatly enjoy working with athletes. My laid-back yet firm approach in sessions, combined with excellent interpersonal skills, fosters positive and supportive client relationships.
