Getting to know James Wunderle

Hello, I'm Jim. Originally from Virginia, I've also called Arkansas and Texas home. I'm a proud father of five adult children and have been happily married for many years. My journey to becoming a therapist has been anything but conventional. Before and during my counseling training, I worked in blue-collar fields, painting houses and repairing mechanical components aboard Navy warships. These experiences have given me a unique perspective and a deep appreciation for hard work and resilience. Since earning my MA, I've had the privilege of working in a variety of settings. I've been in private counseling practice, worked at a psychiatric hospital, detention center, group home, and a home for adults with head injuries. My roles have also included serving as a church counselor and education director, and teaching psychology courses at multiple universities in Texas and Arkansas. I specialize in adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anger management, anxiety, children's mental/behavioral health, depression, family relationships, intimate/romantic relationships, life transitions, sex/intimacy issues, spirituality, and stress. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth services, providing flexible and accessible care.
