“I’ve been seeing Jamie Wood for a while now, and I can honestly say she has made such a meaningful impact on my life. She’s incredibly warm and easy to talk to and her sense of humor brings so much lightness into our sessions, even when we’re working through tough stuff. Most importantly, Jamie really listens. I never feel rushed or unheard; she creates a space where I feel safe, supported, and understood. I’m so grateful to have found her.”

Getting to know Jami Wood

I work with adults who are navigating depression, relationship struggles, substance use and co-occurring disorders, complicated family dynamics, academic or career stress, life transitions, and the impact of trauma. Whatever brings you to therapy, my goal is to meet you where you are and create a space that feels supportive, steady, and real. In our work together, I bring curiosity, reflection, and a bit of humor into the room. I draw from approaches like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness, and I tailor our sessions to what feels most helpful for you. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and we’ll figure out what works best-together. I aim to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where we can look at patterns that may be keeping you stuck, make room for difficult emotions, and practice being a little kinder to yourself along the way. Therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly clinical-it can be thoughtful, engaging, and even relieving. Clients often describe me as both compassionate and direct. You don’t have to do this alone. I’d be honored to be on your team as we take it one step at a time.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our first session, we will complete an assessment. I will gather the information that will help me better understand how to best work with you and we will develop a treatment plan together to ensure we are clearly identifying and working towards your personal goals. As we continue through your journey, we will evaluate how you are progressing towards your goals and adapt sessions to focus on your ongoing needs and concerns.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

It's very easy to be open with Jami. Most sessions, we talk more like friends. As I've experienced with friends and family, talking about the hardest things is scary, but I feel better knowing I have someone who is both caring and professional to talk it through with. My trust and appreciation for Jami has definitely grown since our first session :)
