Jamie Archer, LPC

Psychotherapist
1526 Katy Gap Rd, Ste 803, Katy, TX
I am a child therapist who helps children of all ages and their parents overcome behavioral and mood issues so they can excel in school, at home, and in life. It is my personal mission to help children and their families heal! My experience in play therapy allows me to meet children at their appropriate developmental stage and get beneath problem behaviors to the root cause, bringing about lasting change and the ability to thrive in all environments. Unlike adults, young children often lack the words to explain complicated feelings and emotions. The use of toys and play therapy tools such as games, sand trays, puppets, and art supplies helps children identify feelings, learn new skills, and practice new and appropriate behaviors. My training in play therapy, combined with extensive experience in various mental health settings, gives me the tools needed to help children and their families thrive again. I have a deep passion for working with children and have extensive experience in both private practice and community mental health settings. I have a long history of working with people from diverse backgrounds and varying needs and am passionate about teaching kids and family members new skills to support growth and learning. My training in EMDR also uniquely qualifies me to work with individuals, children, and teens who have been exposed to traumatic events. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor's degree from California State University, Fresno, which have provided a strong foundation for my clinical work and commitment to helping children and families heal and thrive.
