She understands there are often difficult circumstances in the way of achieving your dreams, and welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with you to overcome those obstacles. Jamie offers a supportive space, where you can set a tone and pace that’s comfortable to you. Jamie is passionate about working with children and adults alike, and draws from different approaches such as play therapy, DBT, and CBT blended with whimsey and humor to take a down-to earth approach to therapy. Jamie began her career as an English Teacher with a BA from Grand Valley State University in her native Michigan. Jamie earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Jamie’s background includes 3 years of experience as a home-based family therapist, and 3 years of experience providing one-on-one behavior therapy with children diagnosed with Autism utilizing ABA principles. Most recently, Jamie earned certification for AutPlay Therapy, a behaviorally based play therapy for children with Autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
