Getting to know Jamie Crosier

Hey there, I'm Jamie (she/her). If you struggle to feel "seen," experience stress with your identity or relationships, or if you're new to therapy or have had less-than-great experiences with therapists before, I hope you'll book a session and give me a try. My approach is intuitive, collaborative, and conversational, prioritizing a safe and inclusive experience for people from diverse and often marginalized backgrounds. I offer therapy services for adolescents, adults, and couples/expansive relationships to help improve communication, develop self-compassion, and find a deeper connection to your true self and each other. I am a sex-positive, body-accepting, anti-racist, LGBTQ+ ally in all aspects of my life, and this open-hearted stance deeply informs my work as a clinical therapist. Over the past three years, I have developed a personal mindfulness practice and find these techniques can be really helpful in therapy as well. I have a lot of experience, but I am not the expert in *you*-let's work together to help you discover and follow the path you choose. I earned my Master's in Social Work from West Virginia University and am a clinical social worker independently licensed in Virginia. I am a trained Acu-Detox Specialist and have been a clinical therapist for 12 years. I have been trained and am experienced in treating multiple conditions, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and chronic pain.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In the first session I will ask a lot of questions about your history, symptoms, previous treatments, health, childhood...in social work we refer to this as a "biopsychosocial assessment". This, along with the intake questionnaires you'll complete prior to the session, will help me get to know what's going on with you. I will never force you to discuss things that you're not ready to, but as we work together I will encourage you to confront difficult issues and provide guidance as we deal with them together. You may already be coming into therapy with an idea of what you want to get out of it, and if not I'll help you identify some goals so together we can make a plan for your care that we'll revisit from time to time.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Jamie was so kind and helped me find solutions and strategies to implement into my daily life for each problem I brought to her.
We really enjoyed our experience with Jamie. Been to therapy a few times and it doesn’t always click. With Jamie it certainly did. I would highly recommend Jamie to anyone seeking therapy!
Jamie is a fantastic provider, and has helped me see the world in a better light. Without giving away too much that might self-identify, she has helped solve a number of my issues, with only one small hiccup along the way that she subsequently accommodated.
Jamie has been doing this for a long time, and it shows. It was very clear that she wanted to validate me for who I am, and help me build a healthier sense of self.

She is actually ALL the adjectives you provided, I wish I could select more than 2. I have already recommended her to a close friend.
I love Jamie. She is absolutely amazing and so, so professional. I’ve only had 3 sessions with her but I don’t see myself switching therapists any time soon.
Friendly. Loved the experience. Felt safe.
